Maureen was convicted of felony murder for her role in a burglary during which her co-defendants killed an elderly man.

Maureen spent more than twenty-five years in prison changing her life — successfully addressing her drug addiction and becoming a role model for other inmates.

Since 2000, USC law students have represented Maureen at multiple parole hearings and in state habeas claims. Maureen was released in 2009 on a writ of habeas corpus which successfully challenged the Governor’s fourth reversal of parole.
