On June 15, 2023, USC Gould School of Law and PCJP faculty, students, alumni, and friends gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and legacy of USC Gould School of Law Professor Emeritus Mike Brennan, co-director of the Post-Conviction Justice Project, on the eve of his retirement.

The reception, held at Town and Gown at the USC University Park campus, honored Professor Brennan’s long career and contributions to PCJP. Remarks were given by former PCJP client MaryAnn, USC alum and law professor Michael Parente, Brennan’s son Kevin Brennan and USC Gould Interim Dean Franita Tolson, who presented a gift from the law school.

After more than 40 years at the law school, and with his family in attendance, Professor Brennan expressed deep gratitude for the enthusiastic outpouring. Attendees were treated to the premiere of a short documentary film about the profound impact of PCJP as seen through the eyes of those closest to the clinic.
